Well, not exactly. Let me begin; I am a big fan of a lot of crime shows. I like to sit back and make a week of school, work, music, homework and debating just a little more fun by watching a crime show.
You name it, I have seen it. Bones, Castle, Law and Order: SVU and CSI: NY are the reigning favourites, but there is one pattern. All but one are set in New York City, where somewhere is often referred to as the "Tristate Area". Every single time I watched a show where that was mentioned, I made a note to look it up sometime. And today, I actually did.
My New Thing today was finding out what the "Tristate Area" actually is!! And it is actually more logical than I thought it was. I knew it couldn't have been the areas of New York City, because, well, there are five to my knowledge. So, it turns out, the term "the tristate area" actually refers to the three US countries closest to Manhattan: Connecticut, New Jersey and New York!
So, next time I watch Castle, I will be able to sit back and actually know what they are referring to!
